Pedaling miles to raise money
Last year our Assistant Treasurer Stuart Clarke raised over £4,000 for British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research by swimming. This year, Stuart took to the saddle and cycled a gruelling 836.22 miles to raise money for Cancer Research UK. That's John O'Groats to Lands End on an exercise bike.
Stuart's late friends Morts and Roy were his inspiration. The total raised by Stuart was a phenomenal £2,201!
Bra - vo!
The ladies at Chelsea had fun showing their support for Cobalt Appeal Fund's £1 million breast clinic project appeal by recycling their bras. Big ones, small ones, padded, gel and underwired. We collected them all for a month.
For every kilo in weight Cobalt Appeal received £1 towards their appeal. Approximately 12 - 15 bras make a kilo. We sent two 30 litre bins full of bras to Cobalt appeal to help raise money for their campaign.
Staff charity of the year - How are we doing?
Staff are well on the way to smashing their fundraising target of £30,000 reaching £3,000 already. A fundraising committee has been set up with staff from across the business to help arrange fundraising events.
There is plenty planned, from raffles to Easter egg painting competitions and dress down days.
The Chelsea Communications team are going to be taking a white knuckle ride white water rafting in Northampton to raise £1,000 towards the target.
